It’s raining again. The papery flowers of my oriental poppy are becoming waterlogged.
It’s a stunning colour that totally clashes with my beautiful pink peony, but looks gorgeous in my precious Leslie Thompson bottle.
They self-seed readily and pop-up right in the middle of my purple and white border!
I really like their black centres.
And their crinkly edges.
It truly brightens this grey, wet day.
The National Collection of Papaver orientale is in Hampshire.
PS This is what happens overnight if you forget to put water in the vase!
