I’m really enjoying working on small flat artworks for our Creative Christmas Gifts show.
‘Seven Heads’ stitched panel.
I have wanted to incorporate maps into my work for a while now (ever since having a big clear out of my book shelves and being reluctant to put out-of-date maps into the recycling sack).
‘Horse Island’ stitched panel
I was keen to continue with my recent ‘blooms and seedheads’ theme and have had fun searching for place names that inspire a design.
‘The Bull’ stitched panel
All these pieces are stitched into a leisure map of Southern Ireland.
‘Three Castle Head’ stitched panel
To keep the prices down I will be selling these mounted but unframed, so they will make unique and affordable Christmas presents. I’m rather pleased with them; what do you think?
‘Flat Head’ stitched panel.
Of course, lampshade makers, can’t work in two-dimensions for long before wanting to go 3D, so that’s what I am doing today. Pop back on Monday to see what I’ve done with a map of France.
Have a great weekend.
