The flowers on my desk this week are individual rhododendron blooms floating on water.
This particular shrub is probably about 20 years old and intrigues me in May every year. Its buds start out a bold rich pink colour
but as they open they fade to a very pale cream (I think it’s Rhododendron Unique)
The large rhodo behind flowered a couple of weeks ago and has pretty markings on its white petals. I prefer its more open habit.
While taking photos this morning I spotted the red-tailed bumble bee again. Unless I keep seeing the same one, they are the bee of the month here in my Malvern garden.
Have you seen any in yours?
