I went to the annual Contemporary Craft Fair in Hereford yesterday.  If you are in the area it is certainly worth a visit.

There is a good mix of disciplines including wood, leather, ceramics, metalwork and textiles.  As usual there is a lot of jewellery – some of which was truly original – I especially liked Carole Leonard’s bold pieces using silver and perspex and Fiona Mitcham’s etched jewellery incorporating maps and inspired by navigational instruments.

There wasn’t a huge amount of glass – although fellow Guild member Nancy Sutcliffe has some stunning new pieces of engraved glass.

This year there were lots of textile artists including Sarah Roberts‘ screen prints, Stephanie Redfern’s stitched collages and Margo Selby’s wonderful spotty woven scarves, throws and bags.

The Fair is held at The Courtyard Centre for the Arts in Hereford and is open from 10am until 6pm today and 10am until 5pm tomorrow.
