I’m busy making new work for h.Art open studios, inspired by a creative weekend with fellow makers in Cornwall. I’m enjoying combining linocut printing with stitch. Here’s a few images of work in progress. Come and see the finished lampshades from next weekend.
Herefordshire’s wonderful arts trail, open studios event takes place for 9 full days from 8-16 September. Always a fabulous event for both the artists and visitors alike, this year has a whopping 400 artists at 124 venues taking part.
I’m back at basketmaker Jenny Pearce’s rural small holding in Canon Frome, which is Venue 32 East in this year’s guide. There are 3 other venues in Canon Frome – The Timber Store Gallery (Venue 33) – furniture, surfboards and fine jewellery, Art at the Lodge (Venue 34) – with sculptures, oil paintings and woven scarves and throws and, for the first weekend only, Canon Frome Court (Venue 31) with 15 artists showing their work. The local Trumpet Tea Rooms has created a very useful trail map which you can save and print off from here.
Jenny and I look forward to welcoming you.
