All items featured on this site are handmade from natural materials with inherent irregularities. Each shade is photographed as clearly as possible, but colours will appear differently from one computer screen to another. Please be aware that the colours may vary so if colour matching is important please request paper swatches. All sizes are approximate due to the handmade nature of all components.
Map lamps are made from vintage maps so, although I select the cleanest examples possible, they may show small signs of age.
Prices
The website prices for made-to-order appliquéd shades include the colour matching and design, consultation and advice by email and the hand-crafted shade. Prices start at £125 for a 20cm diameter shade.
The website prices for made-to-order handprinted linocut shades include the ink colour matching and printing of an existing design, consultation and advice by email and the hand-crafted shade. Prices start at £125 for a 20cm diameter shade. If you request a design requiring me to design and cut a new linocut plate a further charge will be made for this.
The website prices for made-to-order map shades include consultation and advice by email, sourcing of the vintage map and the hand-crafted shade. Prices start at £70 for a 20cm diameter shade.

All prices are inclusive of VAT. All prices were correct on 1 March 2025 and may change at any time.
Delivery
I use Royal Mail for the majority of my deliveries. Customers can select between 1st class Signed For, 2nd class Signed For and Special Delivery within mainland UK. P&P prices start at £8. All services require a signature on receipt. Delivery elsewhere will be charged at cost. Items bought from the online Shop will normally be despatched within three working days. Postage prices for made-to-order items will be quoted at time of ordering, along with an estimate of making time which may take up to 28 days. I will notify you when your lamp is posted.

Payment
Payment for goods ordered from the online Shop is required in full on checkout via PayPal. Payment for made-to-order items is required in full once the order has been confirmed by both parties and can be made by cheque payable to Sarah Walker ArtShades or by direct banking ‘bill payment’; I can provide the necessary details by email.
Right to Cancel
Customers purchasing from the online Shop have the right to cancel their order within 14 days of receipt. If you wish to cancel please confirm by email within this period. Goods must be returned unused and undamaged in their original packaging for a full refund. You will be responsible for the return postage cost and adequate insurance. Your refund (less the cost of the original postage) will be provided within 14 days of my receiving your lamp in a re-saleable condition.
You will appreciate that custom-made items cannot be returned unless faulty or damaged.
Damage
Please check your parcel promptly on receipt and notify me of any damage within 24 hours by email. Please retain all packaging.
