ArtShades lampshades on h.Art banner

Two weeks today my studio will be transformed from a chaotic frenzy of creativity, works in progress and miscellaneous lampfittings into an uplifting studio of delights, ready to welcome visitors.  It’s the only time in the year that I open my studio to visitors and I’m really excited to show you all the new lampshade designs I have been working on, joyful colour combinations and new lampbases.

I’ve still got lots to do in preparation but I think I’m on track despite adding things to my to-do list as quickly as I’m ticking others off.

I’ll be opening as part of h.Art – Herefordshire Art Week, a fabulous event that sees 470 artists and makers set up their work in 134 venues throughout Herefordshire and its fringes.  It runs for 9 days and venues are open daily from 7-15 September 2024.  This will be the 17th year I have taken part in h.Art, but only the second time I have opened my own studio space.

And to make your visit even more interesting, I have six fellow artists and makers in the upstairs studio listed as The Malthouse Collective in the printed guide and on the website.  There will be contemporary silver jewellery by Joanne Goodwin, smoke-fired ceramics by Katie Pruden, mixed media artworks and small sculpture by Rae Stevens, free-machine embroidered art by Lindy Eades, embroidery by Julie Lloyd Owen and reclaimed wood furniture by Ben Walker.

Find us at Ivy House, Hanley Swan WR8 0DR.  We are open from 10.30 until 5pm each day from 7-15 September 2024 only.

You’ll be sure of a warm welcome.  See you there!
