When I went round the house photographing my light fittings for my lampshade survey post I was embarrassed by the layers of dust and immediately got the steps out and reached for the cloth. As the sun shines in we switch on our lamps less frequently but our lampshades and all their surface grime are now illuminated from the outside! Here is the article on cleaning and caring for your lampshades which you may find useful.
Do take two minutes to fill in the light-hearted Love or Loathe your Lampshades survey – one respondent sums it up:
“Thankyou for making me think about the lighting in our home, I haven’t done for a long time!!”
PS This photo was taken in the Ghost Tower at Warwick Castle; my light fittings weren’t quite that bad. Honest.
